Pest Control Declined : James was taken aback by the sound of his son, Liam, screaming from the attic. Without wasting a moment, he hurried up the stairs to check on him. Liam seemed to be in a state of panic that James had never witnessed before. Despite James’ efforts to soothe him, Liam continued to point at a wall in the attic. Upon inspecting the wall, James was horrified and knew he needed to call in the experts immediately.
1. A Giant Hornet’s Nest
The towering barrier contained an oversized wasp hive at its peak. James, having encountered numerous wasp nests in the past, observed this one emitted an especially noisy din. The ruckus was unlike anything his ears had perceived previously, nearly resembling the sputtering of an automobile motor in distress. Apprehension arose within James as tremors coursed through his flesh.
The odd-looking nest caught James’ eye. As per Liam, the nest safeguarded something priceless within. James tried getting close to the nest but hornets swiftly assailed him.
2. He Called The Experts
James and Liam encountered some aggressive hornets in the attic, and unfortunately, James was stung a couple of times. The pain was excruciating, so they knew they had to leave the area immediately. James quickly closed the door and sealed it. Realizing the severity of the situation, James searched online for an expert to handle the large nest. He found a local professional and contacted them right away. James explained the situation, and they assured him that they would be there promptly.
3. Experience And Confidence
Mark, an experienced pest control expert, arrives to tackle the hornet’s nest warned by James and Liam. Despite their warning of the nest’s size, Mark remains confident in his abilities having dealt with hornets many times before. As he approaches the attic, he notices the wasps’ buzzing sound is louder than usual but remains unfazed. However, as soon as he enters the attic, he quickly exits and seals the door behind him within minutes.
4. Wait For Winter
James observed Mark’s fearful expression, noticing the complete absence of his confidence. Mark appeared to be genuinely scared. James inquired about what occurred in the attic and Mark revealed that he had encountered an unusually aggressive hornet’s nest. Mark expressed helplessness in the current situation and suggested waiting until winter when the hornets would be in hibernation.
5. He Refused To Go Back In
James was eager to address the hornet’s nest issue, but Mark was adamant about not returning to the attic. Mark believed that the hornets were being overprotective, indicating that there might be something valuable in the nest. Despite James’s attempt to pay Mark more money, he was too afraid to enter the attic again. As a solution, Mark suggested barricading the entrance and waiting until winter to take care of the nest.
6. Things Got Worse
James was feeling helpless when he realized that even an expert could not solve the hornet problem. He followed Mark’s advice and barricaded the attic to stop the hornets from entering the house. However, the situation worsened as the noise level increased, causing the entire family to sleep in the living room. In no time, a few hornets found their way downstairs.
7. Trying To Do The Job Himself
James initially tried to find other pest control companies to tackle the hornet problem, but was advised by all of them to wait until winter as the hornets would be hibernating. However, James decided to handle the situation on his own and purchased the required equipment after conducting thorough research.
8. Clearing The Barricades
James’ wife Emma advised him against going to the attic, but he did not listen and proceeded anyway. The hornets were causing him a lot of frustration, and he ordered everyone out of the house before heading up to the attic. Upon reaching the attic, James discovered that the hornet’s nest had grown significantly in size, about eight times larger than before.
9. Failed Mission
James approached the hornet’s nest with a straightforward plan to remove it from the window. However, things took a turn for the worse as he was viciously attacked by swarms of hornets despite wearing protective gear. He felt the pain from their stings and became overwhelmed. 10. Taking Charge
James woke up feeling disoriented and experiencing a sharp pain in his head. It seemed like he had suffered a concussion due to his fall, which had caused temporary memory loss. Upon the doctor’s visit the following day, James was advised to rest for a few days.
As Liam observed James’ condition, he realized that he might have to step up and take charge. He contemplated exploring the attic himself, but questioned how he could manage what his father couldn’t. Despite his apprehension, Liam’s curiosity grew about what lay inside the nest.
11. Waiting For The Perfect Time
Liam turned to the internet for guidance and stumbled upon a video featuring beekeepers using smoke to eliminate hornets. He realized that he had to keep his plans concealed from his mother as she would disapprove of his actions due to his father’s past experience. After waiting for the right moment, Liam saw an opportunity when his mother went out to buy groceries. He wore his father’s protective gear and ascended the stairs to execute his plan.
12. His Dad Got His Back
Liam’s father interrupted him, causing Liam’s heart to race with the fear of being caught. However, his father quickly laughed and complimented Liam’s intelligence for having a smoker. Liam assured his father that he could handle the situation and insisted that he go back to bed. James looked at his son with a mixture of pride and concern, instructing him to be careful and promising to keep watch at the bottom of the stairs. Liam bravely entered the attic, where he was met with the sight of hornets flying around the room, causing his heart to race with anticipation.
13. A Big Mistake
Liam found himself in a precarious situation as the attic began to fill with smoke. The hornets seemed to calm down as he approached their nest, but the smoke made it difficult to see. Liam decided to open the attic window instead of risking getting stung. Despite the danger, he couldn’t help but appreciate the intricate design of the nest and the hornets’ activity. However, the center of the nest remained hidden, concealed by a mass of hornets.
14. Finishing The Job
The smoke had dissipated and the hornets had regained their senses. Liam collapsed on the ground, attempting to grab his smoker. As he reached for it, he felt a sharp sting in his arm – he had been stung. Despite the pain, Liam pushed through and quickly began smoking the room once again. His vision became hazy from the smoke, but he persevered until he completed his task. With all his strength, he grabbed the hornet’s nest and forcefully tossed it out the window.
15. Getting In Trouble
Liam excitedly informed his father that they had done it and they hurried outside to see the hornet’s nest. However, what they discovered in the driveway was far more alarming. Emma was standing there holding grocery bags, and the nest was on her feet. Emma’s face turned red with anger when she saw Liam in his beekeeper’s suit. She shouted at them for their recklessness.
16. Something In The Nest
Emma suddenly fell silent as she glanced at something protruding from the nest. James approached the object and prodded it a little, only to recognize it as an item he had stowed away in the attic during their move-in. Liam attempted to get a better view, but James stopped him and instructed him to escort their mother indoors. When Liam inquired about the situation, James curtly replied that he didn’t want them to witness it, suggesting that it was unappealing.
17. Seeing Red
Liam informed his mother about his doubts regarding the situation and Emma concurred. She observed James from the window as he retrieved the item from the nest, causing her to become agitated once again. Emma confronted James outside, demanding an explanation for his actions. Liam, perplexed, joined them and examined the object in James’ possession.
18. Riding Off With Regrets
James retrieved some old towels from the trunk of his car and used them to wrap an object before placing it in the passenger seat. He promised Emma that he would dispose of it once and for all. While driving away, James felt foolish for holding onto the object despite his wife’s disapproval. He briefly examined the object, which turned out to be an antique doll that had been passed down to him from his great-aunt.
19. His Wife Was Right After All
James didn’t have a close relationship with his grandmother’s sister, but he held onto her doll just in case it held sentimental value in the family. When Emma saw the doll, she felt uneasy and believed there was negative energy surrounding it due to her superstitions. Emma advised James to dispose of the doll to avoid any future trouble. James initially didn’t believe her and kept the doll hidden in the attic, but eventually, he realized Emma might have been right. He drove to a nearby swamp and discarded the doll into the water.
